Wanaka Engagement Photos in the Lupins | Paeris & Sam
Lupin season in Wanaka is pretty special. For a few weeks around the start of summer they pop up all over the place and make the already incredible Wanaka backdrop even better.
For Paeris & Sam’s engagement/ pre wedding shoot, we found a beautiful patch with no one around and got lucky with pretty magical evening light. We went to a few different spots in Wanaka and Hawea, finishing off with a change of outfits for some more relaxed photos right when the sun had set. Some of my absolute favourite shots so far!
If you are hoping for couple or engagement photos with lupins while you are in Wanaka, they are usually around from late November into December. It changes a little every year though, so I can never promise exactly where they will be flowering or how long they will stick around.
I always keep an eye on what is looking good locally and will choose the best spot when your shoot gets closer.
—A few words from Paeris & Sam—
"We had an amazing experience with Anneke during our pre-wedding shoot! She is incredibly thorough and pays so much attention to detail, from asking about our photo inspirations and preferred locations to even the kind of music we like so she could play it during the shoot. That really helped us feel relaxed and comfortable throughout.
All the locations she picked were absolutely beautiful and surprisingly quiet, with no one else around, which made the whole experience feel very intimate and special. On top of that, her personality is super friendly and warm. We would definitely recommend her and would love to come back for another shoot in beautiful Wanaka again."
