Glendhu Station Woolshed Wedding | Cate & Jamie

Good people, good food and good music pretty much sum up Cate and Jamie's wedding at Glendhu Station in Wanaka.

The day started with Cate getting ready with her closest friends at the Glendhu Station Homestead. There was plenty of natural light coming through the big windows, lots of people coming and going, and some really special family details woven into the morning. Cate wore pearl earrings and a bracelet from her late Nana and Grandma, while Jamie's wedding ring was made from his late Nana's engagement and wedding bands.

Their ceremony was held outside at Glendhu Station with the mountains behind them and a fairly moody Wanaka sky overhead. The rain eventually arrived, but honestly it made for some of my favourite photos of the day. Umbrellas came out, champagne was opened, and everyone just rolled with it.

That is one of the things I love about photographing weddings at Glendhu Station. There is so much variety without needing to go anywhere. You have the mountains, open landscape, the lake nearby and the Woolshed for the reception, so even when the weather changes there is still plenty to work with.

Back at the Glendhu Station Woolshed, Cate and Jamie celebrated with around 95 of their friends and family. There were beautiful speeches, lots of food and champagne, and a very full dance floor once The Mandates got started.

It was a really fun day to photograph, with lots happening but nothing feeling too staged. Exactly the kind of wedding where I can mostly step back, follow what is happening and capture everyone properly enjoying themselves.

—A few words from Cate & Jamie—

"I couldn't recommend Anneke more! She seamlessly captured our wedding and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She is so brilliant at her job during the day that we didn't even notice her taking photos and when we got the pictures back and saw all the stunning candid pictures we were amazed that she managed to be so subtle!

From the first contact right through to receiving the final photo gallery, she has been the most amazing, lovely person to work with. She took our inspo pics and ran with it, even when it started pouring down during our portraits she saw a vision and we have the most beautiful pics in moody lighting."
