Celine and Jacob kept their autumn wedding at Lookout Lodge small, with just 35 of their favourite people there. It made the whole day feel really personal with plenty of time to actually hang out with everyone.

One of my favourite parts of the morning was their first looks. Celine had one with her dad first, which was incredibly sweet, followed by one with Jacob who genuinely could not stop smiling. I always love a first look, especially on a smaller wedding day when there is no need to cram everything into a tight timeline.

And then there was Brioche, their gorgeous wee Corgi. She spent most of the day either scouting around the platters or sitting proudly on Celine's dress like she was the real star of the wedding. Which, let's be honest, she probably was.

Lookout Lodge is such a beautiful spot for an intimate Wanaka wedding. You have the mountains right there behind the ceremony, plenty of space around the property for portraits, and everything can happen in one place.

Autumn is also hands down one of my favourite times to photograph weddings in Wanaka. The light is softer throughout the day and the earlier sunset means we can sneak out for portraits without disappearing from the party for hours. Celine and Jacob were very happy just wandering around, laughing, cuddling and making the most of that warm evening light.

A lot of the wedding was put together by their family and friends. Celine made the cake herself, their closest people helped with the platters, and the styling was kept simple. It all felt very them.

After their ceremony with Glennys Logan, everyone settled into drinks, food from the Stoaker Room and a very relaxed afternoon together.

Small weddings really can be pretty magic.
