Wonder & Full Queenstown Wedding | Cass & Damo
What I remember most about Cass and Damo’s wedding is how FUN the whole day was. Aussies really know how to party. The reception literally started with a dance party as everyone entered the marquee.
We flew up to Cecil Peak for helicopter portraits a couple days before their actual wedding. They didn’t want to spend heaps of time away from everyone on the actual wedding day when so many friends had travelled over for them, so we made a separate morning out of it. Slightly different outfits, and we could actually take our time. I really loved doing it this way, it kind of stretched the wedding out over a few days.
Cass looked so elegant. Her dress with the red roses, her slicked-back hair and the brown bridesmaid dresses all worked so well together. And the florals, holy moly. Actual art. Michelle Coomey & One Fine Day did such an amazing job with the whole setup!
The music was epic, the dance floor went hard, and the whole thing was just a really fun wedding to be part of.
Cass and Damo themselves were just completely in love and up for everything, which made them easy to photograph! We spent quite a bit of time together over the two days and ended up staying friends afterwards. One of the best parts about my job is meeting cool people.
If you’re thinking about doing heli portraits in Queenstown, doing them on a different day can be such a nice way to do it. You don’t have to disappear from your guests for ages and you get to make a whole extra little morning out of it. Jack’s Retreat is also such a great base if you’re planning a wedding weekend or a smaller Queenstown elopement.
