Wanaka Summer Wedding | Ash & Scott

Ash and Scott got married on their family property between Wanaka and Hawea, and pretty much everyone had a hand in making the day happen.

They had collected mismatched glasses for months, old bathtubs were filled with ice and wine, and they had even planted a whole field of wildflowers especially for the wedding. It was such a cool space to photograph because there were little personal touches everywhere.

Scott is a pilot, so naturally he arrived at his own wedding by helicopter. Probably one of the best groom entrances I’ve seen!

Ash basically did not stop smiling all day. These two are just really fun together. Scott is constantly making goofy jokes, Ash is constantly laughing at him, and photographing them never felt particularly serious or posed.

After the ceremony we took the bridal party down to Lake Hawea for photos and somehow got an evening with barely any wind. If you know Hawea, you know that is a win. We had the lake pretty much to ourselves, everyone was in a great mood and we just wandered around taking photos until we lost the light.

Then it was back to the property for dinner, a bonfire and LA Social playing live. The dance floor filled up quickly and stayed that way.
